Our Team

  • Ric Stone

    Ric is as an Operating Executive at Union Capital, where he serves as a mentor, relationship manager and overseer to business process outsourcing and specialty manufacturing portfolio company CEOs.

    Ric specializes in growth initiatives, process improvement, and strategy implementation.  He has a track record of building successful sales channels, implementing data-driven business processes and creating high performing teams.

    Ric originally worked with the Union Capital team in 2015 as President and CEO of KEYper Systems.  Under his leadership, KEYper grew EBITDA 2.4x in under four years and after a successful exit of KEYper Systems by Union Capital, Ric rejoined the Union Capital team, full-time as an Operating Executive in 2020.

    Prior to joining Union Capital, Ric held various leadership roles at Textron, General Electric, and Deutsche Bank in the functional areas of Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance and Risk / Underwriting.

    Ric received his MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, where he graduated with the most outstanding academic accomplishment honor.  He received his BBA in Finance from Georgia State University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.  He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

  • Tom Coffman

    Tom is a Senior advisor in the Packaging sector to Union Capital, where he assists Union Capital portfolio companies with various cost saving and efficiency initiatives while also assisting Union Capital’s investment team with diligence on prospective opportunities. 

    Tom has more than 30 years of experience in the packaging industry with expertise in film and packaging development, blown film and cast film extrusion, printing, laminating, slitting, pouch making, etc.). He also has expertise in the sales, service, upgrade and repair of mono and coextrusion lines for blown and cast films.

    Tom has held numerous senior leadership positions at a number of packaging companies including Senior Director of Development at Inteplast Engineered Films, Business Development Manager at Winpak, Operations Manager at Sealed Air / Cryovac, and Business Development Manger at Alcan Packaging (acquired by Bemis).

    Tom is also a former Professor of Physics at the US Naval Academy and spent over ten years as a Nuclear Submarine Officer and a Nuclear Engineer and Strategic Weapons Officer.

    Tom received his Masters degrees in Nuclear Engineering (US Navy) and International Relations (University of Maryland). Additionally, Tom received his undergraduate degrees from Michigan State in both Nuclear Physics and Applied Mathematics.
